Andy Murray is in comeback mode as he looks for a sustained run at Wimbledon in front of a crowd desperate to see him back at his best.
The Scottish sporting hero has endured a nightmare few years with his 2021 run to the third round his best grand slam showing in the last six years. Recently though his form is as good as it has been since he last lifted the trophy back in 2016; he won back to back Challenger titles at Surbiton and Nottingham on his way in and he's hoping to carry that momentum into a run into week two.
Ranked no.40 in the world - his highest position since 2017 - Murray kicks off against Ryan Penniston on centre-court in a heavily anticipated Battle of Britain at SW19. But when does it start, how can you watch it, and is the weather anything to worry about? We've got you covered.
When does Ryan Penniston vs Andy Murray start?
The battle of the Brits was never going to be anywhere other than centre court and it's the second match pencilled in. Shelby Rodgers vs Elena Rybakina kicks off the action at 1.30pm so Murray can be expected around 3.30pm, assuming there are no more rain delays to the action. It might be sooner though if women's No.3 Rybakina runs out comfortable winner.
What is the weather forecast?
Yesterday's action was ravaged by the weather and there is likely to be more of that today. The Met Office say there is an 80 per cent chance of rain when the action starts at 1.30pm, but that could inadvertently work in the big match's favour as the roof will likely be over centre court from the off to give the action the best chance of starting uninterrupted.
What channel is it on?
Penniston vs Murray will be shown live on BBC One with their Wimbledon coverage starting at 1.45pm and running all the way through to the news at 6pm. For tennis fans keen on an earlier start, BBC Two's coverage runs from 11am through to 7pm.

There are a number of major first round matches today. Novak Djokovic came through unscathed against Pedro Cachin yesterday and attentions now turn to world No.1 and tournament favourite Carlos Alcaraz who kicks things off on No.1 Court against Jeremy Chardy. Elena Rybakina opens up centre court while Murray's match is followed by Panna Udvardy against Elena Sabalenka.
