All That Glitters is back on our screens this week, as the search gets underway for 'Britain's Next Jewellery Star'. Comedian and presenter Katherine Ryan is returning to host the BBC Two show as eight new jewellers take on this series' challenges and hope they can prove to the judges why they should be crowned the 2022 champion.
The six-part series has been filmed in a specially built workshop in Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter, which is said to be home to more jewellers than anywhere else in Europe. Each episode will see the jewellers face two challenges: The Bestseller, a task where they have to design the latest must-have piece, and The Bespoke, a one-off piece created for some very special clients.
There is a new judge in the workshop for this second series, Dinny Hall has over 35 years of experience in jewellery making and has created pieces for celebrities across the world. She joins returning judge, jewellery designer Shaun Leane who is known for pushing the boundaries of contemporary design.
At the end of each episode, they will decide which contestant has earned the title of 'Jeweller Of The Week' and which one will be packing up their bench and leaving the competition. Here are all the details on when and where you can watch the new series, including a look at the series two contestants:

Who are the contestants in All That Glitters series two?
There are eight brand new craftspeople taking part in the second series of All That Glitters, aspiring to be crowned the UK's next jewellery star. They will go head-to-head across the six episodes, here is a look a the line-up:
Bonnie
Age: 40
From: Birmingham
Occupation: Jeweller and metal technician
Bonnie gets much of her inspiration from Birmingham and incorporates this into her pieces. Speaking of her time on the show Bonnie said the experience was "terrifying" but added: "What was most enjoyable was finding those kindred spirits and feeling like it's OK to be you, and it's OK to fail as long as you don't focus on those failures."
David
Age: 60
From: Chichester in West Sussex
Occupation: Jeweller and stained-glass window maker
"The most interesting part is that we were given a restricted amount of materials and we had to work with boundaries, like a limited amount of time," David said of his time on the show: "I think it's always interesting to have boundaries to work in because invariably the piece that you make is better. That was a very different way of working, which was really interesting in itself."
Emma
Age: 45
From: Leeds
Occupation: Jewellery school owner and teacher
Emma said she learnt a lot about herself during her time on BBC Two show. "It gave me my creativity back," she explained: "It was a six-month experience and to have that time dedicated to just coming up with new designs, thinking about what I wanted to make, the whole pressure of lots of people are going to see this, it made me give it a lot of thought."
Jack
Age: 35
From: Bristol
Occupation: Jeweller
"On the show I learned how to look at designer stuff," Jack, who started making his own jewellery at the age of nine, said. He said of his experience: "I was trained as a goldsmith and got stuck in my ways. It’s hard to think outside the box when you’re trained like that, but on the show you tackle it in a whole new way."
Nyanda
Age: 49
From: East London
Occupation: Goldsmith
Nyanda said her time on All That Glitters was "exhilarating" and "stressful" but that the experience has taught her to believe in herself. "I enjoyed meeting the other guys," she added, "because making jewellery on my own can be quite insular. Most of the time I’m making jewellery from home, but I enjoyed being surrounded by people."
Piers
Age: 25
From: Kent
Occupation: Jeweller who works in an antique jewellery store
Piers explained how he liked being "pushed" out of his comfort zone by taking part in the BBC Two competition. "I enjoyed it all really." He said: "It was quite stressful but I liked being pushed out of my comfort zone. At the time, the weirder challenges were really daunting but it was quite satisfying and freeing to make something completely different."
Steve
Age: 29
From: London
Occupation: Runs a small jewellery business
Steve is originally from Syria and his birth name is Mustafa. But when he was 20, during the war he was displaced and he walked across Europe, arriving in the Calais Jungle in France - it was there he made his first piece of jewellery. "I enjoyed making a connection with all of the other jewellers," Steve said of his All That Glitters experience: "There were nice moments, fun moments with Katherine on the show."
Tianne
Age: 25
From: East London lives in Berkshire
Occupation: Stone setter
Tianne decided to follow in the footsteps of her dad, who was a diamond mounter and loves to make mechanical pieces that move. "I learnt so much about myself," She said of her time on the programme: "It taught me to be more patient and have more confidence in myself. When the challenges were happening, I thought, I don’t know what I’m doing here - but it meant I needed to be more patient".
All That Glitters starts on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer on Thursday (August 25) from 9pm.
