When does Strictly Come Dancing start in 2024, what time is it on and will Ellie and Vito reunite?

Strictly Come Dancing will return in 2024 for another season of dancing and scoring, despite being plagued by scandals in the last few months.

However, some fans are far from excited for the star-studded show to return, claiming that the stars are not quite as shiny as previous years.

The 2024 line up has an increasing number of people declaring the signings “underwhelming” and “disappointing”.

This will also be the first year in the past four that Strictly won’t feature any same-sex couples.

Nonetheless, return it will – and a start date has already been decided. Here’s everything you need to know about the BBC show’s 2024 run.

When does Strictly start in 2024?

Strictly will air on Saturday, September 14, 2024 for its 20th anniversary, running its usual number of 12 weeks.

Some of the returning faces have already started sharing videos and images of the show ramping up, including last year’s winners, Ellie and Vito.

What time is Strictly on?

Strictly will return to screens on BBC One with the launch show airing at 19:20 on September 14.

Will Ellie and Vito reunite?

Yes, 2023’s winners Ellie and Vito will indeed reunite it seems, as both of the duo have shared videos of themselves rehearsing together.

This has also sparked renewed rumours about a romance between them, perhaps marking potential victims of the Strictly curse.

Who are the Strictly 2024 couples?

The couples have not yet been confirmed but the celebrity contestants have been. They are:

  • Chris McCausland - Comedian
  • JB Gill - Singer, TV presenter and author
  • Wynne Evans - Broadcaster, presenter, and professionally trained opera singer
