NFL teams have been busy getting free agents signed and trade deals completed.
The Miami Dolphins made a splash by signing Jalen Ramsey from the Los Angeles Rams while the New York Jets are hoping to land Aaron Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers. The signing period is officially open and has been since earlier this month ahead of the NFL Draft, which takes place in Kansas City at the end of April.
Restricted free agents can sign from March 15 to April 21 while unrestricted free agents, franchise players, transition players must sign by November 15 unless they cannot play in the remainder of the 2023 season. Teams franchise tag their players to keep them for another year, preventing them from entering free agency and losing them for nothing.

Free agency continues apace with Mack Hollins to the Atlanta Falcons and Tremaine Edmunds to the Chicago Bears the latest deals to be completed. Meanwhile the Jets' pursuit of Rodgers has not officially been completed because of the complexities involved with the player's contract and the fact his potential new club would have to part with top draft capital to make it happen.
With Rodgers, 39, close to retirement the Jets may not want to go all-in on a player who may not have long left in the NFL. They need a quarterback, though, which is why Rodgers has been considered in the first place while Green Bay appear happy to let Rodgers go.
The move would send shockwaves around the NFL and open the door for other free agency moves to be completed as players eye a potential link-up with Rodgers. "I think it's trying to find what he wants and what we want, and hopefully, we can find a win-win situation," Packers chief executive Mark Murphy said recently.
