When does French Open 2022 start, how to get tickets and how to watch in UK

Thousands of tennis fans are heading to Stade Roland-Garros in Paris, France for another year of The French Open.

Some of this year’s players include Serena Williams, Rafael Nadal and Emma Raducanu.

Former winners Iga Swiatek and Novak Djokovic will also be competing, after winning the 2020 and 2021 tournaments respectively.

For any Brits hoping to see Andy Murray out on the court this year, you’re out of luck as the Scottish tennis star is skipping the 2022 event in preparation for Wimbledon.

As the qualifying rounds are wrapping up, the main event is about to get underway.

There are a few ways to see the show yourself and here is when to expect it.

The French Open started its qualifying rounds on May 16, but the main games are yet to begin.

The tournament officially gets underway on May 22 and will run until June 5.

There will be a total of 15 categories in the upcoming tournament.

Now that the qualifying rounds have come to a close, the main draw is set to start on May 22.

How to get tickets for The French Open

Sadly, if you are looking to get tickets to see the event in person, it's a little too late.

The tickets typically become available for purchase two months ahead of the tournament.

They also sell out extremely quickly, so if you still want some your only hope is through last-minute resellers or dropouts.

However, you can still enjoy the show from the comfort of your own home.

Eurosport is also available through Amazon Prime at the same price as part of its additional channels service.
