When could Cardinals OL Jonah Williams return from his knee injury?

The Arizona Cardinals have missed starting right tackle Jonah Williams. The veteran who signed a two-year, $30 million deal this offseason has played only one quarter of football. He injured his knee on the final play of the first quarter of the Cardinals’ season-opening loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Is he coming back this season?

It isn’t known. Head coach Jonathan Gannon said last week, “We’ll see,” which is never lends itself to something positive.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports his return is uncertain.

Williams is rehabbing the injury with the goal of returning later this season, but it is possible he is unable to return. It will depend on the response to the rehab.

Fowler says he is eyeing a potential return next month in November but that is “up in the air.”

In the meantime, Kelvin Beachum has started two games and missed one with a hamstring injury. They have no other backup tackle on the active roster. Charlie Heck is on the practice squad and rookie Christian Jones is on injured reserve but has had his practice window opened so he will be activated in the next three weeks.
