It has been anything but a quiet week for Chelsea after Roman Abramovich was officially sanctioned by the UK government for alleged connections to Vladimir Putin.
Abramovich has consistently denied the links but the government still moved to freeze the Russian oligarch's assets as a method of putting pressure on Putin.
It means that the club have been left in financial limbo, unable to trade in any respect. This means no tickets or merchandise can be sold while any contract or transfer negotiations also have been put on hold.
Manager Thomas Tuchel has been the man largely dealt the unenviable task of fielding questions on the club's situation as the Blues continue to compete on three fronts this season.
But despite the news coming just hours before kick-off, his team still beat Norwich 3-1 at Carrow Road on Thursday night.
"It would be a lie if I said I had no doubts but I also had a lot of trust," Tuchel told BBC Radio 5 Live after the game.
"In difficult circumstances, we produced a lot of results and good performances so we can trust in our mentality and the culture in the club. We allowed ourselves to focus on the football."
A further financial blow came on Friday night when Barclays temporarily suspended the club's bank accounts as they assess the general license given to the club to continue footballing activities.
But amid all of this, the football continues.
Chelsea will next be in action on Sunday afternoon when Newcastle are the visitors at Stamford Bridge, with Eddie Howe's side winning their last three matches in the top-flight.
