Black Ops Royale launched in Call of Duty: Warzone after months of anticipation. But while the game mode hit the mark in recreating the beloved Blackout experience, one gamemode was notably missing. At launch, Black Ops Royale didn’t feature a Solos playlist, with players forced to play Quads instead.
While Raven Software’s data indicated that Quads are by far the most popular games across all other game modes in Warzone, the incredible community response forced the developer to reconsider the decision. So when are Solos coming Warzone Black Ops Royale?

Black Ops Royale Solos Release Date
Raven Software confirmed that Solos will be coming to the game in response to community feedback. According to their tweet, Solos will be added to the game as a Private Match option “next week” to help gather data.
While this will require some backend work and a few changes that need to happen before it goes live, we’re excited to get Solos into the game and we’ll share more details on timing as we get closer to deploying. We plan to add Solos as a Private Match option next week to help gather early data on match pacing and overall balance. – Raven Software on X
Unfortunately, that Private Match condition has become another point of contention for the community. Players were quick to point out that organizing a private match with 50 players would be an incredibly difficult task for the players who were asking for Solos in the first place.
A few members of the Warzone subreddit also pointed out that currently Raven Software does not allow players to fill private matches with bots, making the process even harder. Given the reasoning behind adding Solos to private matches was to gather the requisite data before a wider release, Raven Software will have to find some solution to allow actual players to playtest the game style.
Raven Software will need to find a workable solution before Black Ops Royale Solos can reach a wider audience. Whether Duos and Trios eventually follow will likely depend on how smoothly the Solos rollout goes.
