Get your rubbish out early - that's the message from council chiefs in North Ayrshire ahead of changes to bin collections during the festive season.
The local authority is advising residents to put their household bin out for 7am as as the actual time of collection might vary during the holidays.
On the mainland and Cumbrae only the domestic and commercial collection days for Monday, December 26 and Monday, January 2 will change.
Bins due for collection on December 26 will be collected on Christmas Eve. Bins due for collection on January 2 will be collected on Hogmanay. All other collection days remain unaffected.
On Arran, domestic collection dates in December will change as follows: Monday, 26 to Wednesday 28; Tuesday 27 to Thursday 29; Wednesday 28 to Friday 30.
In January, uplifts change from: Monday 2 to Wednesday 4; Tuesday 3 to Thursday 5 and Wednesday 4 to Friday 6.
If adverse weather affects a specific area the council will return to collect bins when possible.
There will also be changes to the dates for commercial waste collections.
Those due on December 26 and 27 will be done on December 27 only, while uplifts scheduled for January 2 and 3 will be collected on January 3 only.

In all areas, the council’s Household Waste Recycling Centres will shut at 2pm on Christmas Eve, remaining closed until December 28.
The centres close again at 2pm on Hogmanay and re-open on Wednesday, January 4.
Bulky collections (special uplifts) will stop on Friday, December 16 and start again on Monday, January 9 .

On the mainland and Cumbrae, real Christmas trees (in sections of 5ft or less) will be collected if left next to the brown bin. This starts on Monday, January 9 over the next two-week collection cycle.

On Arran, real Christmas trees can be deposited at the Brodick Household Waste Recycling Centre in Market Road.
Councillor Scott Davidson, Cabinet Member for Place, said: “During the festive period people can end up with more packaging and – potentially – food waste than usual. So, it is important for us all to play our part by recycling and using the proper bins.
“Please take a note of any changes to bin collection dates in your area.”
