The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan, have announced that they will visit the UK next month to attend charity events. It will be the first time that the couple has been in the UK since the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in early June.
The purpose of the couple's visit is to "support several charities close to their hearts". They are expected to attend the One Young World summit in Manchester on September 5th.
The event brings together more than 2,000 of the brightest young leaders from every country and sector, working to "accelerate social impact both in-person and digitally". The Duchess is a counsellor for the organisation, alongside Justin Trudeau, Sir Richard Branson and Emma Watson.

The Duchess, 41, is expected to deliver the keynote address at the summit's opening ceremony and the couple will meet a group of delegates “doing outstanding work on gender equality,” the organisation revealed.
Harry and Meghan are then scheduled to visit Duffeldorf for the "One Year To Go" event ahead of the Invictus Games there next year. They will then return to the UK on September 8th for the WellChild Awards "celebrate the inspirational qualities" of seriously ill children and young people.
Prince Harry has been a patron of WellChild, a charity helping to get seriously ill children and young people out of hospital and home to their families, since 2007. It is not known yet if the couple's two children, three-year-old Archie and one-year-old Lillibet will accompany them.
A spokesperson for the couple said: "Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are delighted to visit with several charities close to their hearts in early September."
The visit comes ahead of the publication of the Duke’s memoir, which is expected in October although there has been no update from his team since it was first announced in 2021.
