Here, Chronicle Live breaks down all that we know about Love Island 2023...

When does Love Island 2023 start?

It is widely-reported that Love Island 2023 starts January 16, 2023 - making the season's premiere less than two weeks away now. Viewers will be able to tune into the show on ITV2 and ITVX.

Where is the series taking place?

The new season is set to be both bigger and better than any previous editions, set in the Franshhoek wine valley of South Africa.

Contestants will be treated to an all expenses paid stay in a luxury eco-retreat on ‘millionaires row, reports Bristol Live.

Have any contestants been confirmed?

As of yet, no. But as the start date is soon approaching, eager viewers won't have to wait too long to see who will star in the new screening.

It has been reported by The Mirror however, that Tanya Manhenga is the first stunning singleton who is set to jet to South Africa and participate in the series later this month. A 22-year-old biomedical science student, Tanya has already accrued a substantial 11,500 followers on Instagram, referring to herself as a 'digital creator'.

She has also worked with an abundance of premium brands, like Boohoo, Ego, and Simmi Shoes.

Who is hosting the series?

Maya Jama has been officially confirmed by ITV as the new host of Love Island, after Laura Whitmore walked from the show weeks after the last series ended. Following Laura's pull-out, Maya sharply became the bookies' favourite to succeed her, and was successful in doing so.

ITV2 aired a teaser for fans on New Year’s Day via Instagram, with Maya starring. Speaking on landing the role, the long-time fan, said: “I’ve always been such a massive Love Island fan and I’m so excited to be hosting one of the nation’s favourite shows! I can’t wait to get into the Villa to meet all of the Islanders.”

The teaser itself was captioned: "Winter just got a whole lot hotter,” and featured Maya straddling a spinning bucking bronco. Later in the video, she says: “It’s time to grab love by the horns. I’m ready, are you?”
