There's a brand-new "hidden mode" coming to your WhatsApp profile - and it could help you keep your personal information safe from those you don't want to have access to it.
The popular messaging app revealed the news on Twitter, where they said that the new mode will provide a way for people to keep some of their information secret from specific people in their contacts.
With the hidden feature, you'll be able to hide your profile picture, Last Seen status, and About page from specific groups of people - or even hide them for everyone with the exception of a select few.
WhatsApp, which is owned by Facebook and Instagram 's parent company Meta, wrote in their tweet: "To further protect your privacy online, we’re rolling out new options to your privacy control settings.

"Now you can select who from your contact list can see your Profile Photo, About, and Last Seen status."
The feature will allow you to choose several privacy options for each setting, including making them visible for nobody, everyone, all of your contacts, and all of your contacts with specified exceptions.
That means you'll be able to make sure your family can see your Last Seen status, but that friend who won't stop bugging you will have no idea when you last used the app.
However, the setting does come with a catch - because if you stop someone from looking at your personal information, then you won't be able to see theirs either.
The feature is currently being rolled out on the general version of the app, so you'll need to check your Apple App Store or Google Play Store to see if you have an update available.
Meanwhile, we previously revealed how you can jazz up your iMessages with special codewords that set off an array of special effects including lasers, balloons, fireworks, and confetti.
Screen effects only work between devices that support iOS, so both you and your friend need to be using an iPhone to be able to send and receive the effects. Then, all you have to do is send one of the codewords in an iMessage and your phone will send the text along with the effect associated with it.
Sending an iMessage with the word "congratulations" or "Selamat" will send a burst of confetti to your message recipient while sending "happy birthday" will see their screen fill up with balloons of various colours.
You can wish your friends a "Happy New Year" with a firework display on their phone screen and there's a specific red explosion effect for when you send a message stating "Happy Chinese New Year".
Finally, if you message your friends saying "pew pew", you'll send them a laser light show.
