What you can buy for average house price in Bristol - but in Spain

Brits would be forgiven for looking to live elsewhere amid the cost of living crisis, rising petrol costs and rocketing house prices in the UK. Spain is often a popular choice for those looking to relocate.

According to Rightmove, the average house price in Bristol is currently £361,243, when looking at the last year. The majority property sold without that period were terraced properties, selling for an average price of £350,332. Semi-detached properties sold for an average of £379,589, with flats fetching £268,668.

According to Rightmove, the number of Brits contacting estate agents in Spain to enquire about properties available has risen by more than a third compared to April 2021. This trend is echoed by data from the Land Registry which shows that the number of British buyer transactions is now at its highest level since 2018.

UK buys are the biggest overseas market for Spain, and accounted for 12 per cent of foreign transactions at the beginning of this year, according to Rightmove. Islantilla, Bahia De Marbella in the Costa Del Sol and Vera in Andalusia are standout hotspots for UK homeowners looking to move abroad, MEN reports.

With the average house price in Bristol now at £361,243, we looked at what properties you can buy for the much less over in sunny Spain - and it might surprise you - many are incredible deals at £100,000 less than average properties here!
