According to Nasa, the 60m-wide asteroid known as 2024 YR4, once thought to have probability of striking Earth, is no longer a direct threat to our planet.
However, scientists now believe that there is a 4.3% chance the asteroid could hit the moon in 2032. Should this happen, they believe it would create a 1km crater and lead to “global-scale lunar reverberation”.
