Britain's Queen has died aged 96.

Doctors became concerned for the 96-year-old's health following a medical evaluation on Thursday morning. Buckingham Palace later confirmed the monarch died peacefully on Thursday afternoon.

In a statement, the Palace said: “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”
