Londoner’s Diary
Ryan Murphy is a busy man. Just a few months ago his legal drama starring Kim K, All’s Fair, came out on Disney+ and was promptly branded the worst TV show of all time. Now there’s another star-studded show winging its way onto our screens: The Beauty. It’s about (don’t laugh) an injection manufactured by an evil trillionaire (Ashton Kutcher) which makes users (like Bella Hadid) look really hot, but comes with devastating side effects. The show has already been described as “nonsense” by critics. We can’t wait. Kutcher is a busy bee, having recently chipped in for the £2bn purchase of Soho House. He described the members’ club as “a British entity that I’m slightly obsessed with, and have been obsessed with for like three years.” Something in those picantes. After the premiere, Kutcher and cast members including Rebecca Hall decamped to The Londoner hotel for a sushi and cosmopolitan fuelled after-party.

Meanwhile, Jason Statham was joined by his wife Rosie Huntington-Whiteley at the premiere of his new action flick, Shelter, at Cineworld. Statham told the Standard that his favourite place to unwind is Crystal Palace skate park, where he goes every Saturday with his sons.
At Odeon Luxe West End, Claudia Winkleman was on the red carpet for the gala screening of Is This Thing On? which is produced by her husband, Kris Thykier. The film, based on British comedian John Bishop, was directed by Bradley Cooper and stars Will Arnett and Laura Dern.

Is 2026 the year we finally realise that the wellness industry is one big capitalist sham? A sneaking feeling is beginning to set in that we have Gooped too close to the sun, and the drugs (80 quid supplements) don’t work. This is all crystallised in Amy Larocca’s new book, How to Be Well, where she examines how exotic mushroom powders and colonic irrigations replaced Prada and Valentino as the markers of a luxury lifestyle. The book launch was held at Toklas, where there was nary a celery juice in sight. Instead, guests including author pal Andrew O’Hagan were lavished with champagne aplenty and a Parma ham station.

Over at One Marylebone, cousins Gene and Anaïs Gallagher, model Elfie Reigate and Sabrina Bahsoon, aka Tube Girl, went to the unveiling of the Atlassian Williams F1 team’s new kit, designed with New Era. Then it was to Covent Garden, where actor Sheila Atim and model Mia Regan enjoyed a night with the English National Ballet, watching Akram Khan’s Giselle at the London Coliseum followed by an after-party at St Martins Lane hotel.
