What we know about Ann Widdecombe murder investigation as new details emerge

  • Police are questioning a 28-year-old white British man, arrested in Rotherham on Saturday evening, in connection with the suspected murder.
  • The suspect is thought to have arrived at Ms Widdecombe's home with a 'wooden pole'.
  • Devon and Cornwall Police have stated there is currently nothing to suggest the murder was terrorism-related or politically motivated, but remain open-minded about the motive.
