Manchester United fans were quick to notice the link-up play between Harry Kane, Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford for the former's goal at Old Trafford on Monday.
Kane scored the opening goal of the night inside 29 minutes, getting on the end of Shaw's cross to fire home from eight yards. United talisman Rashford played his part in the move, slipping the left-back into a great position with a deft through ball.
Shaw admitted last week that he would love to have Kane at United, and Erik ten Hag's interest in the 29-year-old has been genuine. The Dutchman is desperate to add more goals to his squad and had earmarked the Tottenham striker as his prime target.
The message from north London is that Daniel Levy will not sell his star to a Premier League rival, but while United are working under the assumption that Kane is not for sale, their interest is not completely dead in the water.

And so it was somewhat bittersweet for United fans to see the striker finish off a move created to well by Shaw and Rashford, and many took to social media to send a message to their top target.
Tottenham's insistence that Kane is not for sale makes that kind of link-up unlikely in the red of United, with Ten Hag's team working on alternative targets. Rasmus Hojlund's name often surfaced, while there is also interest in Napoli's Victor Osimhen or Randal Kolo Muani of Eintracht Frankfurt.
