When is the 2023 PDC World Darts Championship?
The latest edition of the PDC World Darts Championship gets under way at 7pm on Thursday, December 15. The event runs through until the final on Tuesday, January 3.
Is the 2023 PDC World Darts Championship live on TV?
Yes, the whole tournament will be screened live on Sky Sports. Fans can also stream the action live via the Sky Go App.
What prize money is on offer?
A total of £2.5million in prize money is on offer during the course of the tournament. In addition to lifting the Sid Waddell Trophy, the winner will bank £500,000.
The prize money will be split as follows:
Champion - £500,000
Runner-up - £200,000
Semi-finals - £100,000
Quarter-finals - £50,000
Last-16 - £35,000
Third round - £25,000
Second round - £15,000
First round - £7,500
Which Welsh players are involved?
A record six Welshmen will participate in this year's competition. Former world champion Gerwyn Price is the current number one and is undoubtedly the headline act.
Price's fellow World Cup of Darts star Jonny Clayton will also be involved along with Jim Williams, Robert Owen, Richie Burnett and Lewy Williams.
Who do the Welsh players play?
Richie Burnett will be the first Welshman to feature as he faces Adam Gawlas in the first round on Saturday afternoon (December 17).
Robert Owen and Lewy Williams take on Andrew Gilding and Niels Zonneveld respectively in the first round on the afternoon of Monday, December 19, while Jim Williams battles it out with Sebastian Bialecki on the evening of the same day.
Gerwyn Price will play either Luke Woodhouse or Vladyslav Omelchenko in the second round on the evening of Monday, December 19, while Jonny Clayton takes on either Steve Beaton or Danny van Trijp at the same phase of the competition on the evening of Friday, December 23.
