What transfer business Liverpool have now to do as £100m of deals anticipated

Feeling a little jaded by the transfer window? Fancy a bit of a break from the rumours, speculation, waiting and general tittle-tattle?

Well, tough. There are still two-and-a-half months until deadline day. And, in terms of overall business, Liverpool have plenty to be getting on with.

New sporting director Julian Ward has already been earning his corn by helping seal a number of deals to strengthen Jurgen Klopp's squad ahead of the forthcoming campaign. The Reds, though, are only just getting started. Here's what we can expect before the window slams shut.

Continue strengthening squad

With Darwin Nunez following Fabio Carvalho through the entrance this summer, Liverpool have already continued the evolution of their squad. They remain in the hunt for 18-year-old Scottish right-back Calvin Ramsay, although Aberdeen want at least double the £4million the Reds are willing to offer.

Liverpool showed their hand somewhat with interest in Aurelien Tchouameni before it became clear the midfielder was intent on completing a move to Real Madrid. Upgrading the engine room will now become a priority, with Klopp a huge fan of Jude Bellingham. Any move for the Borussia Dortmund teenager will most likely have to wait until next year, although the Reds recruitment team will be on standby to react should there be any further developments.

Beyond that, any other incomings may be dependent on who leaves Anfield in the coming weeks and whether any holes in the squad need to be filled. Liverpool, of course, have made a habit of securing opportunist deals if the circumstances have made it feasible.

Move players on

Sadio Mane is expected to be the main departure this window with Bayern Munich hopeful of sealing a transfer despite having had two offers rejected. While Liverpool are yet to receive a third bid, reports in Germany state Bayern will return with an offer of a £30.28m (€35m) set fee with an additional £4.33m (€5m) in bonuses. The Reds value Mane at nearer £42.5m.

Takumi Minamino will also leave, with Leeds United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Southampton and Monaco having expressed an interest. Liverpool are looking to raise around £17m for the Japan international.

Neco Williams would command £15m with a host of clubs, including promoted duo Fulham and Nottingham Forest, keen on the right-back. Liverpool, though, may look to keep Williams if a deal for Ramsay is not agreed. Nat Phillips is available for a similar price, but the Reds are open to him spending a season on loan at Bournemouth, who he helped back to the Premier League during a four-month stay.

Liverpool will also listen to offers for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. West Ham United have an interest, while Aston Villa are considering an approach. There have also been sniffs from abroad for a player who, entering the last 12 months of his contract, could go for £10m. Forgotten man Ben Davies will be encouraged to find a new club.

Negotiate new contracts

With James Milner having already agreed to another year on reduced terms, Liverpool are now concentrating on three deals in particular. Naby Keita, approaching the last 12 months of his scheduled stay, is in talks over an extension while the Reds will look to make Joe Gomez an offer.

The priority, however, is finding a breakthrough in negotiations with Mohamed Salah after a lengthy impasse. The clock is ticking on the Egyptian, who will be free to talk with clubs from abroad in barely six months as his present deals ticks towards its final year.

Consider loan moves

As well as permanent exits, there are likely to be, as ever, a host of temporary departures. Owen Beck and Conor Bradley, who have both impressed at full-back for the U23s, have attracted interest from clubs in the Championship and beyond.

Rhys Williams and Leighton Clarkson, who returned early from loans earlier this year, will also be available for another such move, along with Sepp van den Berg, who impressed at Preston North End in the Championship last season.

Vitezslav Jaros has been linked with Tranmere Rovers, while fellow goalkeepers Liam Hughes and Jakub Ojrzynski also had spells away in the last 12 months. Paul Glatzel, Anderson Arroyo, Jake Cain and Adam Lewis could have loan moves again in the coming campaign.
