Wondering what toys are at McDonald's? The treat waiting inside a Happy Meal has delighted kids for years - here's what to expect if you're buying one for your little ones.
All the way back in the early 70s, a few branches of McDonald's introduced the concept of a kids' meal that came complete with a toy. When they felt they'd perfected their idea the company trademarked the Happy Meal name, rolling out the famous meal deal during the summer of 1979. The first toys included stencils, wallets, and puzzles.
Many of us have fond memories of trips to McDonald's as a child, and over the years the fast food giant has branched out to introduce some of the top toys for keeping kids entertained - available for a limited time and often collectable, some Happy Meal toys even go on to become worth a lot of money.
Available for just a fraction of the price of adult meals, Happy Meals contain a choice of fish fingers, chicken McNuggets or veggie dippers with an apple & grapefruit bag, or carrot bag side, and drink options include water, milk, or a Fruit Shoot - plus, the all important toy. What toys are at McDonald's now in the UK and US?
Starting from May 12, 2024, McDonald’s is introducing five toys in Hello Kitty’s new collaboration with Yu-Gi-Oh in Happy Meal. Kids can collect the whole collection, and there's also an option to scan the qr code on the Happy Meal box and become digitally absorbed in the unfolding transformations.
For those who don't want a toy, there's the choice of a Happy Meal book instead. One of the books is an interesting and informative read about three famous scientists, and the other is about legendary jazz singer, Ella Fitzgerald.
