What Tottenham star Richarlison did in Brazil training ahead of Qatar World Cup opener vs Serbia

Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison has staked his claim for a chance to lead the line for Brazil at the World Cup after scoring a stunning scissor kick in training. Brazil's World Cup campaign gets underway next Thursday as Tite's team take on Serbia in Group G.

Despite a recent calf injury, Richarlison was named in Tite's final Brazil squad last Monday. After being substituted against Frankfurt last month with a similar calf injury that kept him out for a considerable amount of time last season with Everton, there was some worry that he wouldn't return in time for the tournament.

The Spurs forward is obviously determined to lead the line for Brazil ahead of Arsenal stars Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli. As tweeted by Brazilian outlet Globo on Twitter, via The Boot Room, Richarlison's stunning effort in training is bound to help his starting claims.

Brazil have several other talented forwards, many of whom would probably be able to thrive if needed up front given the ability around them. One would imagine that Richarlison will be the man who gets the initial chance, which is obviously a huge opportunity for the Tottenham star.

Brazil are definitely in the mix to lift the World Cup for a sixth time but it's not going to be handed to them on a plate. Tite's side will have to be at their best throughout the tournament, starting with a solid performance against a Serbia side who boast a dangerous attack that includes frontmen Dusan Vlahovic and Aleksandar Mitrovic.
