Tottenham players have previously given their verdict on the transfer window as deadline day fast approaches.
Spurs have had a chaotic start the season, with up and down performances ending in various results and a managerial change.
In the summer, the Lilywhites brought in Cristian Romero, Bryan Gil, Emerson Royal, Pierluigi Gollini and Pape Matar Sarr, who was then loaned back to his former side.
However those transfers were made under Nuno Espirito Santo and it has now become clear that Antonio Conte needs reinforcements to not only improve his strongest 11 but also add quality to the depth of the squad.
Wolves winger Adama Traore has been one of the most heavily linked players to Tottenham and football.london reported last week that talks have been ongoing between the two clubs, with confidence that a deal will eventually be agreed for the Spaniard.
Franck Kessie is another who has been linked with a move to north London, although the transfer would be made difficult because of his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations.
It would also be a struggle as it is understood that Kessie would prefer to wait until the summer to move away from AC Milan, who are currently third in Serie A, as that is when his contract will expire.
Tottenham's third London derby defeat of the year came against Chelsea on Sunday and it was yet another indication of the work that needs to be done, which can start with fresh faces brought in during the final week of the transfer window.
During Tottenham's All or Nothing Amazon documentary, which was filmed during the 2019/20 season, a conversation between Ben Davies, Harry Kane and former Spurs player Christian Eriksen was had, about the transfer window.
"Why is it never enough now, like even come January teams can't be settled, do you know what I mean?" the Welshman said.
"There always has to be...have to sign a new player."
Eriksen then replied saying: "That's how it is now."
"It is how it is but when you think about it, it's like you have to have new players all the time," Davies added and Kane agreed.
Davies then asked: "Whatever happened to letting a player develop for a bit?"
This may be the case with some of the summer signings who were brought to Tottenham most recently as they may still be trying to find their feet, playing in a new league and in a new country, as well as having various issues making their season quite stop start.
However, with a new manager comes a new structure and set-up, which means the new arrivals have to adapt again.
"He is a good player and he is only 22-years-old and this is the first season in the Premier League," Conte said on Emerson, ahead of the Chelsea game.
"I think he is doing well, like the others has a lot of space for improvement.
"The right wing-back has an important role in my idea, in the system if we play with three in the back," he added.
The Brazilian is one of the players struggling to make as much of an impact as some would've hoped with his attacking play, but as Davies alluded to in the documentary, is he a player that just need some more time?
With the likes of Traore being linked with a move to N17, it is likely that Emerson will be pushed down the pecking order if the deal goes through.
If the likes of Davies and Kane still carry the same views regarding the transfer window, it is likely that they will hope any new arrivals can get settled with the squad so there can start to be some consistency in the Spurs camp, with a team working and succeeding as one.
