Chelsea return to Champions League action this evening against Real Madrid knowing they must overcome a two-goal deficit. The Blues fell to defeat in the first leg in Spain and face an uphill task of advancing to the semi-final.
Frank Lampard's men come into the clash on the back of three consecutive defeats after losing 2-1 to Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon. The club will have to muster a repeat of Thomas Tuchel's 2021 success in the competition if they are to host European football next campaign.
With proceedings continuing to be a mess on the field, Todd Boehly continues to work behind the scenes to appoint a new permanent manager. It's understood that Lampard will see out his caretaker spell until the end of the season, though Boehly remains hands-on.
