Graham Potter's worst fears at Chelsea came true as his side were beaten 2-0 by Tottenham as a torrid run of form continues. The defeat to Spurs now leaves Potter without a win in six games and just one win in 11.
The Blues have still only tasted victory once in 2023 and have only scored four goals in 11 matches. After fans at Stamford Bridge turned on Potter last weekend against Southampton there is ever increasing pressure on the former Brighton man.
The noises from Stamford Bridge remain firm that Potter will be given time to turn around the situation with the knowledge that there has been an unprecedented level of change and turnover within the club. That is likely to grate with fans though who are seeing their team close to dropping into the bottom half.

Having started his pre-match press conference with a joke about being in a crisis meeting, Potter may now be facing that as a reality. Co-owner Todd Boehly was once more at Cobham in order to watch training in midweek and was present at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday afternoon too.
The American was turned to on camera several times during the game and looked as bemused as most of the fans watching on in the away end, at one stage giving his phone more attention than the game going on. Potter is, after all, his man. The new regime took the plunge to give Potter the longest and most lucrative contract of any Chelsea manager and see him as the coach to oversee the transition. This patience is being tested though.
Every week there are louder shouts for Potter to lose his job from fans and pundits alike meanwhile results and performances on the field continue to leave plenty to be desired. With the perfect chance to impress Boehly and potentially influence the owner's feelings regarding the current atmosphere at the club, the loss will only add to the gloom.
Boehly and his business partner Behdad Eghbali were close to the side in pre-season and ultimately made the choice to sack Thomas Tuchel and they are similarly involved now with Potter and face a tough call in the coming days and weeks. With two huge games coming up there will be more calls for Boehly to make a change at Stamford Bridge and the loss in north London is unlikely to have done anything to aid the head coach's position.
