Chelsea earned their first win in six games on Saturday with a narrow 1-0 victory over Leeds United. Wesley Fofana marked his return back in Graham Potter's line-up with the only goal of the game in the second half.
The win - which is only Chelsea's second of 2023 - means Potter's side are now only nine points behind the Champions League places. The three points will also lift some of the pressure off Potter after the 47-year-old found himself under severe pressure after last week's London derby to Tottenham.
Prior to the game, the fixture against Javi Garcia's side was marked as one of two crucial games for Potter regarding his imminent future at Stamford Bridge. football.london understands Potter retains the support from the ownership despite calls for him to be dismissed by supporters.

Ahead of Wednesday's highly-anticipated Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund, Boehly was in attendance at Stamford Bridge to watch his investments defeat Leeds. And it was one of his summer recruits that provided the goods in Fofana.
The French defender was signed from Leicester City towards the end of the summer transfer window for a deal worth £75million including add-ons. Fofana has now played the previous last three games - coming off the bench against Southampton and Spurs - after last featuring in the 3-0 win over AC Milan in October.
And after the game, TV cameras caught Boehly celebrating the win inside his box at Stamford Bridge. Unlike when the goal was scored, it was smiles all round from the U.S billionaire. He'll be expecting more of the same in midweek and the rest of the season.
