What to Expect From Jack Henry & Associates' Next Quarterly Earnings Report

Jack Henry & Associates, Inc. (JKHY) is a financial technology company providing technology solutions and payment processing services to community banks and financial institutions, with a market cap of $12.4 billion. The Monett, Missouri-based company is expected to unveil its fiscal Q4 earnings results on Tuesday, Aug. 20. 

Prior to the event, analysts anticipate the fintech firm to report a profit of $1.30 per share, down roughly 3% from $1.34 per share in the year-ago quarter. The company has surpassed Wall Street's bottom-line estimates in each of the past four quarters. JKHY reported an EPS of $1.19 in Q3 2024, exceeding the consensus estimate by 2.6% due to robust demand for fintech products.

For fiscal 2024, analysts expect JKHY to report EPS of $5.19, up 3.4% from $5.02 in fiscal 2023. Looking forward to fiscal 2025, EPS is expected to grow 9.8% year over year to $5.70.

In 2024, JKHY's shares have risen 4.1%, lagging behind the S&P 500 Index's ($SPX) 14.5% gain and the S&P 500 Financials Sector SPDR's (XLF) 15.3% increase on a YTD basis.

Despite missing Q3 revenue estimates, shares of Jack Henry & Associates rose marginally on May 7 after the company reported better-than-expected Q3 profit and raised its full-year profit forecast, driven by strong performances in its processing and services segments. Additionally, the company's record sales bookings and strong sales pipeline further bolstered investor confidence.

Analysts' consensus rating on Jack Henry & Associates stock is cautious, with a "Hold" rating overall. Among 15 analysts covering the stock, opinions include four "Strong Buys," 10 "Holds," and one "Strong Sell."

The above configuration is slightly less bullish than three months ago, with five analysts suggesting a "Strong Buy." The average analyst price target for JKHY stock is $180, suggesting a potential upside of just 5.8% from current levels.
