The first round of the 2024 NFL Draft begins Thursday night in Detroit, and all expectations are that the Chicago Bears will kick off the first round by taking star quarterback Caleb Williams. What picks will follow, and when can you expect your team to go on the clock? We’re here to help.
The 2024 NFL Draft will begin at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN, ABC and the NFL Network.
Using the broadcasts from recent years as a guide, we can approximate when every team will be making their first round selections. If you aren’t going to stick around for the entire show, or if you only care about one team, use the times below as a loose projection.
How long does each team have on the NFL Draft clock?
For the first round, each team will have 10 minutes “on the clock” to submit their picks. In 2023, most teams had their pick in before that clock expired, and the draft moved along fairly quickly.
In the second round, the clock time drops to seven minutes per pick. Teams get five minutes per pick in rounds three through six, and four minutes per pick in the seventh round.
