What time will play start on Day 2 of Brisbane Test between India and Australia

The opening day of the third Test between India and Australia in Brisbane witnessed just 13.2 overs bowled as rain played spoilsport after Rohit Sharma won the toss and put Australia in to bat at the Gabba.

Australia openers, Usman Khawana (19*) and Nathan McSweeney (4*), remained unseparated while taking the hosts to 28 for no loss when the second rain interruption turned into a downpour that washed out the rest of the day.

With as many as 76.4 overs of play lost, the match officials will try to make up for it with an early start on all four remaining days of the match.

"Play will resume tomorrow (Sunday) and all following days at 9:50 am local time (5:20 am IST) with minimum 98 overs to be bowled (on each day)," read an update on play timings posted by the BCCI on social media.

The forecast for the remainder of this Test is also for rain on most days barring Sunday, which is expected to be largely dry. As per Accuweather, there is only 8% chance of rain, but the cloud cover will remain.

On Day 3 (Monday), there is a 69% chance of a couple of showers with sunny spells in between. Day 4 (Tuesday) and Day 5 (Wednesday) both have 84% and 56% probability of rain, respectively.

The five-Test series remains tantalisingly poised at 1-1, with Australia trying to win the Border Gavaskar Trophy for the first time since 2014 and India trying for a hat-trick of Test series wins on Australian soil.
