The World Cup draw takes place in Doha on Friday, April 1, starting at 5pm UK time.

The draw is being broadcast live on the FIFA website and is on BBC One, with TV coverage starting at 4.45pm. Alternatively, you can follow it live through our blog.
How does the World Cup draw work?
The teams are split in eight groups of four, and all groups feature one country from each pot. Groups contain one team from each confederation, aside from Europe. A maximum of two UEFA sides can be in a group. You can read more on how it will work here.

Why are Wales in pot four?
Due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Scotland’s game against Ukraine is delayed until June, with the winner travelling to Cardiff to play Wales in the final. Due to FIFA being unable to determine official rankings for the sides in the play-offs, all teams still in the mix to qualify were placed in pot four.
