The first of three races in the United States marks round five of the championship, as Miami hosts its second F1 race after the inaugural Grand Prix was held in 2022.

Red Bull teammates Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez are battling at the top of the drivers' championship standings.

Here is everything you need to know.

Where and when is the race?

The track is situated at Miami Gardens in the northern part of Miami.

The temporary track makes its way around the major stadium, which hosts the Miami Dolphins NFL team.

The circuit is roughly 30km north-west of Miami Beach.

The race will start at 5:30am AEST on Monday.

How can I watch the race in Australia?

The only place to watch all the action is via the Fox Sports stable of broadcasting channels.

It will be available on both Foxtel and Kayo Sports.

What do I need to know about the track?

The fast and flowing track mixes long straights with tight corners and elevation changes.

There are 19 corners and three straights, with top speeds in 2022 reaching more than 340kph.

The chicane at turns 14 and 15 is one of the most challenging on the F1 calendar, with an uphill approach into turn 14, leading to drivers going over a crest and heading downhill through turn 15.

The second running of a Grand Prix may highlight new areas of the track for drivers to attack during the race.

What happened last year?

The first Miami Grand Prix was held last year with Max Verstappen taking the race win

It was the 11th American venue to host an F1 Grand Prix.

Verstappen started the race third, but the straight-line speed of the Red Bull was too much for the Ferraris to handle on race day.

The win in Miami was a sign of things to come, as the Dutchman went on to dominate the season.
