Arsenal have been joined by Manchester United in the Europa League round of 16 draw today. Erik ten Hag's side came from behind to win 2-1 against Barcelona last night, seeing them progress from the play-off round after a 4-3 aggregate victory.
The Gunners did not take part in the play-off round after they finished the group stages as winners of Group A, seeing them become a seeded team that qualifies for the round of 16. Before the World Cup break, Mikel Arteta's side won five of their six group games to finish two points above PSV Eindhoven.
Finishing top of the group meant the north Londoners avoided an extra round of fixtures, allowing them to focus on their Premier League title race with Manchester City. Whilst the focus at London Colney will remain on their first Premier League title in 19 years, a good run in the knockout stages of the Europa League will only breed confidence.
