Novak Djokovic is back on Centre Court today, taking on Arthur Rinderknech at Wimbledon.
To begin his quest for a 25th Grand Slam, he battled to a 6-4 5-7 6-4 6-4 win over China's plucky Wu Yibing, before showing his quality to oust former world No3 Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets in the second round.
The 39-year-old, who is hunting an eighth Wimbledon crown, beat the Greek 6-3 6-4 6-2 in a comprehensive victory.
Djokovic now sits at No8 in the world rankings and has not won a major since triumphing at the US Open in 2023.
He will need to be at his best to beat the 25th seed Rinderknech, who is an experienced customer in the men’s game.
The Frenchman has dispatched of home hope Oliver Tarvet in the opening round, and then followed that up with a convincing straight-sets win over Martin Damm Jr.
