The UK's biggest theme park, Alton Towers, officially opened for the 2022 season on March 19. The resort, which is home to the infamous Nemesis, Oblivion and Wicker Man rides, is a popular go-to for families during the Easter holidays.
There are over 40 rides and attractions at Alton Towers to keep thrill-seekers busy. It also has the country's only CBeebies Land, as well as a waterpark and Extraordinary Golf.
Located in Staffordshire, day tickets for the Alton Towers theme park can be bought in advance and start at £36. Opening times, however, vary on the activity you're doing.
So what area the Alton Towers opening and closing times for Easter 2022? Here's everything you need to know.
Alton Towers opening times
According to the website, opening times vary. A statement reads: "There’s so much going on at Alton Towers Resort and there may be different opening times for each activity."
If you are heading to the theme park then the opening hours throughout the Easter holidays are 10am to 6pm . According to the website, the theme park will be open between these hours right up until Sunday, April 24. During the last week in April the park is open 10am to 4pm.
Meanwhile, the waterpark will operate between the hours of 10am and 8pm . Opening times, however, change after April 24 so if you're planning to visit in the last week of the month it's best to check the wesbite.
Extraordinary Golf is open 9am to 7pm over the Easter holidays and slightly longer on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17, closing at the later time of 8pm. Again, hours are reduced from April 25 onwards.
The UK school holidays mark the busiest time periods for Alton Towers, so it's best to plan ahead to make the most of your trip. Alton Towers said: "Alton Towers closes at different times in different seasons, depending on the light and weather - but we always open for fun at 10am! (Please note that our opening times are subject to change and are often updated closer to the date.)"
