What the Middle Class Should Know About Tax Changes in 2026 Before Filing

This tax season changes big and small have come home to roost in 2026. New tax rules were signed into law as part of the 2025 Reconciliation Legislation, also known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), where President Donald Trump’s administration and lawmakers approved a series of updates that could affect everything from income tax brackets and standard deductions to popular tax credits and retirement-related rules.
