Liverpool legend Sadio Mane made a goalscoring start to his Bayern Munich career but prior to their win over RB Leipzig, he watched the Reds' clash with Manchester City for 'as long as possible', according to reports in Germany.
As Jurgen Klopp's side secured a 3-1 win over their title rivals at the King Power Stadium in the Community Shield, Bayern were gearing up for their Super Cup clash with RB Leipzig. The win over Man City saw the German head coach complete England's domestic set after he added the FA Cup and League Cup to his glittering managerial career at Anfield last season.
Mane, who played a big part in the Reds' quadruple chasing season, made the switch to the dominant Germans in the summer. And the Senegalese attacker wasted no time in getting on the scoresheet during their win over Leipzig.

Liverpool's summer signing Darwin Nunez also had a goalscoring debut as he rounded off proceedings with a diving header as he enjoyed a 30-minute cameo against the Citizens. Prior to his goal, his header was handled by Ruben Dias handing Mohamed Salah a chance to restore their lead from the spot - which he duly did.
According to BILD journalist Christian Falk, Mane revealed that he watched the curtain raiser between the Premier League top two for "as long as possible". He tweeted: "TRUE Sadio Mané’s heart still beats also for @LFC.
"Before the Supercup with @FCBayern he watched as long as possible the Community Shield against @ManCity, he told me."
Although it remains to be seen how much of the Community Shield triumph he witnessed - given preparations for their clash at the Red Bull Arena - his love for a club where he spent six years is evident.
