Chelsea are being linked with a shock move for Manchester City attacker Riyad Mahrez in the summer transfer window.
The 31-year-old winger sees his contract at the Etihad Stadium expire at the end of next season, with negotiations over an extension already taken place, but with no agreement just yet.
According to French news outlet Footmercato, the west London club are 'keenly interested' in Mahrez, with the Algerian available for around €40million (£33.2m) in the summer transfer window.
However, Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be interested in Mahrez as they look to sign a replacement for Angel Di Maria, with the Argentine looking set to leave in the summer.
Both Chelsea and PSG have reportedly 'been working on the subject for several weeks' with Mahrez's future in Manchester uncertain as it stands.
Judging by some old comments from Mahrez, the Algeria international is a huge fan of Chelsea as well.
Back in 2017, after Chelsea clinched the Premier League title after a victory at West Bromwich Albion, Mahrez was heard speaking with his former Leicester City team-mate Islam Slimani and their conversation was picked up by French broadcasters - via the Daily Mail.
Slimani said to Mahrez: "Hey, Chelsea are champions!" and the winger replied: "They're an incredible club. A real club."
Mahrez has netted 10 times in the Premier League for Man City this season - including twice in their 4-1 win against Manchester United at the weekend. After the victory, the City star spoke about how he has changed his game to try and be more effective in front of goal.
He said: "I don't know if I am a great goal scorer but I am trying to help the team as much as I can every game. This season, I am more efficient but it is because of the work we are doing in training.
"I am trying to be more in the box and trying to be involved everywhere to try to score goals and help the team.
"That is the only thing I am trying to do. It was very good, especially in the second-half. We totally controlled the second-half. When we are like that it is difficult to take us [on]. That is our identity and we have to keep it.
"We are happy to win and we give a hug to each other and congratulate each other because it was a tough game and we did a good job."
