Is Lionel Messi about to get the perfect happy ending in Qatar?
KEITH JACKSON: Fingers crossed. The little man belongs on a different planet to all the rest. Lifting the World Cup would be the most fitting crowning moment to a glorious career.
DAVID McCARTHY: He appears to be a man on a mission but does he have the quality around him to help him get his hands on the prize? I've got a feeling a big Mbappe sized shadow is going to be cast over Argentina by the time this all plays out.
ANDREW NEWPORT: Hopefully. For me he's the greatest that's ever kicked a ball but he needs a World Cup win to convince those in the Maradona camp. For once, his Albiceleste support cast are stepping up to the mark.
SCOTT BURNS: With Lionel Messi in your ranks you would have a chance against anyone. I still think Brazil and France will be too strong. But it would be a great end if Messi and Argentina were to lift the World Cup.
