A new scheme introducing 20mph speed limits on roads in north Cardiff came into force this week. Work began earlier in the year to install the speed limits in Llandaff North, Whitchurch, Tongwynlais, Rhiwbina, and Heath.
It's part of the first phase of a Welsh Government scheme to reduce the national default speed limit on residential roads from 30mph to 20mph in 2023. The pilot was announced in February last year and, if successful, the changes could be rolled out across Wales in 2023.
The scheme has elicited a mixed reaction from road users, with some on board with the new speed limits in these areas, while some have branded it an "absolute joke".
