Arsenal's Premier League title hopes suffered a huge blow as they were comfortably beaten by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. The game got off to an awful start for the Gunners who were a goal down after seven minutes following Kevin De Bruyne's early strike.
It could easily have been more in the first half as Erling Haaland missed a hatful of chances. Right on the stroke of half time John Stones then headed in to put the game beyond Arsenal's reach after an intervention from VAR.
It went from bad to worse in the second period as the Gunners were caught open at the back time and again before De Bruyne netted his second to make it three. Rob Holding was able to grab a consolation but it was too little, too late as Haaland eventually added another one late in stoppage time.
