A crocodile befriends a monkey who lives in a rose-apple tree, visits daily, shares fruit, and seems genuinely warm. Then the crocodile's wife decides she wants the monkey's heart, she assumes anyone who eats such sweet fruit must have a sweeter organ. The crocodile, caught between loyalty to a friend and pressure from home, agrees to deliver the monkey. He invites him for a ride across the river and confesses mid-water.
