What Oleksandr Zinchenko did amid agreeing personal terms ahead of £32m Arsenal transfer

Arsenal are closing in on their fifth summer signing with Manchester City's Oleksandr Zinchenko set to follow Gabriel Jesus from the Etihad to the Emirates.

The Gunners have reached an agreement with Zinchenko over personal terms with the 25-year-old expected to sign a four-year deal, as per The Athletic. Zinchenko's former teammate Jesus has already made the move to reunite with former City coach Mikel Arteta in north London and now the Ukraine international looks set to follow suit.

A fee of £32million is said to have been agreed between the two clubs, with the Gunners turning to Zinchenko after missing out on Lisandro Martinez who has joined Manchester United. Ahead of his proposed move to the Emirates, Arsenal fans have spotted the 25-year-old being active on social media.

Zinchenko has shown signs of support for his side after liking Jesus' Instagram post showing of the Gunners' new 2022/23 Adidas away shirt. Fans spotted that the Ukraine international had liked the post ahead of his expected move to the Emirates and is seemingly a fan of the kit he is set to wear next season. Zinchenko will become Arsenal's fifth new signing, offering quality at both left-back and central midfield.

Arteta commented on speculation of a move for Zinchenko during Arsenal's pre-season tour of America. Arteta told reporters: “There are no updates with anybody.

“When we update, then we will let you know." When asked whether Zinchenko would fit Arsenal’s profile, the Spaniard responded: “We are looking at different options in different positions. Then, we will give you an update when we have it."
