What next for Joey Barton after having bail application denied?

  • The victim, a former non-league football manager, suffered serious eye injuries during the incident after drinking at a golf club in Huyton.
  • Judge David Potter remanded Barton in custody at HMP Liverpool ahead of a pre-trial hearing scheduled for 11 December.
  • Barton's trial has been pushed back to March 2027, meaning he will have spent a total of 12 months on remand.
