Arsenal's first recruit of the summer transfer window Marquinhos has summed up his immediate feelings to his Premier League move as Edu's Brazilian connections helps the Gunners get off the mark in the transfer window.
football.london understands that the Brazilian will arrive at the Emirates Stadium on a five year contract for a fee believed to be in the region of £3 million. Part of the club statement on Arsenal's official website included immediate thoughts from sporting director Edu, who was instrumental in helping the Gunners complete what could be a very smart signing for the future.
Edu stated: "We're delighted to have completed the transfer with Sao Paulo, as Marquinhos was a player we had been watching for a while. At 19, he is still very young, so he is a player for the future. We look forward to Marquinhos joining us for pre-season, making his new home, and continuing to grow and develop with us."

'Everyone at Arsenal welcomes Marquinhos to the club. The transfer is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.' The 19-year-old was quick to respond to the news on his Instagram page (@_marquinhos001), with his four emoji response encapsulating his emotions after completing such a big move at this early stage of his career.
Interestingly enough, this may not be the only Brazilian to be joining the project in north London this summer. This is because the duo of Man City's Gabriel Jesus and Everton's Richarlison have been linked with moves.
For the former of the pair, it is understood that Chelsea amongst others are heavily in the race to try and sign a player who is now surplus to requirements for Pep Guardiola following the acquisitions of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez.
Meanwhile, Richarlison is being pursued by bitter rivals Spurs, meaning that despite the smart purchase of Marquinhos, Edu is set to face stern tests over the forthcoming months if he is to supply Arteta with the right ammunition to attack the 2022/23 Premier League season.
