Well, that's it – Ozark is over. Fans watched the nail-biting story conclude in a dramatic finale, which dropped on Netflix on Friday (April 29).
For the last five years, viewers have followed Marty Byrde (Jason Bateman) and his wife Wendy (Laura Linney) as they tried to launder $500 million to appease a drug cartel. In the opening of the Netflix series, Marty dragged his family out to Ozarks, Missouri.
But things soon get darker and more dramatic as his wife and kids, Charlotte and Jonah, get wrapped up in his mess. They also had to face Ruth Langmore (Julia Garner, Inventing Anna), who was out for vengeance.

Season 4 was split into two parts, with 14 episodes in total. In this season, freedom is seemingly within reach for the family, but their frayed bonds could ultimately cause their downfall.
Bateman directed some of the episodes himself, and won an Emmy Award for it in 2019. He also has two Screen Actors Guild Awards for his performance, which added to his mammoth 17 wins and 77 nominations over his long career.
As Ozark fans recover from the shock that the show is over, let's take a look back at Jason Bateman's repertoire, before he became Marty Byrde.
What movies and TV shows has Jason Bateman been in?
New York-born Bateman has been acting on TV since the 1980s, when he played orphaned boy James Cooper for the NBC show Little House on the Prairie . He appeared on '80s TV series Silver Spoons , Knight Rider and It's Your Move , before making more of a name for himself as David Hogan on The Hogan Family .
His big break, however, came with the box-office flop Teen Wolf Too in 1987. You may recognise Bateman from Arrested Development , which Bateman joined in 2003 when he was cast as Michael Bluth.
The show, failing to reach high ratings, despite critical acclaim, ended in 2006 but was revived in 2013 until 2019, with new episodes being released on Netflix. Bateman won several awards for this performance, including a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Television Series Musical or Comedy.
He's also taken on minor roles in Scrubs, King of the Hill , and was the voice of Tommy Turned in the hit cartoon, The Fairly Odd Parents . Over on the big screen, Bateman showed his comedic skills as an ESPN commentator in Dodgeball: A True Underdog and as Kevin, Vince Vaughn's business partner in Starsky & Hutch .
He's also been in Juno, The Kingdom, Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium and appeared alongside Ben Affleck in Smokin' Aces and Will Smith in the superhero film Hancock . Bateman joined Vaughn again in 2007 for The Break-Up and two years later for The Couples Retreat , which also starred Kristen Bell.
He's also worked with Jennifer Aniston over the years, first in the 2010 romcom The Switch and in 2011 as a disgruntled worker in Horrible Bosses , and its sequel. The list goes on: Forgetting Sarah Marshall, The Invention of Lying, Paul, Zootropolis, Office Christmas Party and the comedy Game Night (2018) .
Bateman is also a skilled director: he was meant to direct every episode of Ozark Series 1, but he couldn't due to clashing schedules. Before this, though, he directed dark comedy Bad Words back in 2013, in which he also played the lead role.
Ozark is Bateman's most recent project. Before this, he appeared in the widely critiqued comedy Thunder Force alongside Melissa Mcarthy and voiced Max Davies in a 2020 episode of The Simpsons .
