What Michael Keane did after sending off as Alan Shearer names two 'stupid' Everton players

Your Everton evening headlines for Monday, April 4.

What Michael Keane did after sending off as Everton end goes wild for Mason Holgate

Everton fell to a 2-1 defeat to West Ham to leave themselves just three points clear of the relegation zone. Though Mason Holgates’ equaliser gave the Blues brief hope, Jarrod Bowen scored the decisive goal just five minutes later.

Frank Lampard’s team had performed solidly in the first half, despite heading into the break 1-0 down. Showing promising passages of play at times, the defence also held firm to deny West Ham many clear opportunities.

Alan Shearer names two 'stupid' Everton players after West Ham United defeat

Alan Shearer believes Everton only have themselves to blame for their defeat at the hands of West Ham United as he blasted Alex Iwobi and Michael Keane for their 'stupid' mistakes.

David Moyes' side picked up a 2-1 win over the Blues in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon . The result further plunged Frank Lampard’s side towards the drop zone.

Aaron Cresswell opened the scoring with a superb free-kick before Mason Holgate drew Everton level with a deflected strike after the interval. But Jarrod Bowen pounced on a rebound to restore the Hammers' lead five minutes after Holgate’s equaliser. Michael Keane then received a second yellow card to add to the Blues’ misery.

And speaking after the game, former Newcastle United man Shearer was critical of the way Lampard’s side hit the self-destruct button. The Premier League great was also full of praise for Creswell’s opener.
