Liverpool’s move for Porto’s Luis Diaz is not dependent on anyone leaving the club in the January transfer window.
That means the Reds are not expecting to lose either Takumi Minamino or Divock Origi before the end of the month.
Japan international Minamino has been a January transfer target for both Monaco and Leeds United.
He is yet to start a Premier League game for the Reds this season, despite Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah spending much of January at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

The versatile forward, who was a £7.25million capture from Red Bull Salzburg two years ago, has instead been used in the domestic cups mainly during his time at Anfield, and spent the second half of last season on loan with Southampton.
Jurgen Klopp chose to start 17-year-old Kaide Gordon ahead of Minamino for the 2-0 win over Arsenal in the Carabao Cup semi-final last week and the potential incoming of Diaz would push him even further down the pecking order at Anfield as the club close in on the Colombian before Monday's 11pm deadline.
However, Anfield sources have dismissed speculation linking Minamino with an exit this month, despite interest from Monaco and Leeds.
A sizable offer could yet force Liverpool's hand as the window ticks into its final few days but the Reds are planning for the rest of the season with the 27-year-old in their ranks as it stands.
Liverpool pushed forward with their interest in Diaz after Tottenham Hotspur made their own advances this week.
Manchester United are also understood to be keen on the 25-year-old winger.
Liverpool remain in pole position as things stand over Diaz, but sources have stressed that the deal is far from complete with the Colombia international currently on duty for Los Cafeteros as they play Peru at home on Friday night and Argentina away on Tuesday.
As reported by the ECHO, assistant sporting director Julian Ward has been a driving force behind a transfer that could be worth a potential £49m.
A deal for Diaz will be worth an initial £37m with a further £12m in add-ons and Liverpool have dispatched a delegation to Argentina, where he plays with Colombia on Tuesday, to arrange a medical.
The complicated logistics of the transfer mean the Reds are in a race against time to secure Diaz before the 11pm deadline on Monday night.
The plan is for the club’s medical staff to get access to Diaz when Colombia land prior to Tuesday’s game and he will undergo the routine procedures in South America.
Origi is another player who Liverpool believe will still be within their ranks when the transfer window closes on Monday evening.
The Belgium international is into the final six months of his deal and can speak to clubs outside of England about a pre-contract agreement, with Italian side Atalanta reportedly keen.
However, like Minamino, it would take a huge sum for Klopp to consider allowing Origi to leave with the Reds still fighting on four fronts this term.
The frontman's history for big goals at the tail end of the campaign mean his importance to the cause potentially outweighs offloading him on a cut-price deal in January.
Origi is out of contract in the summer although Liverpool do have an option to extend that by a year based on the number of games played this term.
However, that Origi has yet to start a Premier League game this season makes it increasingly likely the striker will be free to walk away for free at the end of the campaign.
