It's safe to say Andy Whyment is a Coronation Street legend. The 41-year-old has played much-loved Kirk Sutherland on the long-running ITV soap since 2000.
He has portrayed Kirk through some of the show's most dramatic storylines as he had a rollercoaster romance with Fiz Brown before he found love with Beth Tinker. Kirk has been through a difficult week on the hit soap.
His marriage has been on the rocks after a dispute with Beth. The character felt he couldn't believe Beth after she lied about hitting Hope Stape, reports the ECHO.

He was also jealous after she told him about her first lover, Marco. Thankfully, though, the week had a happy ending as Kirk and Beth made up just as he was considering moving out of their house.
Away from the screen, Andy's life is much more settled than his character's. He is happily married to Nicola Willis.
They have been married since 2007 and have two children, Thomas and Hollie. Andy swooned over his wife in an interview with OK! Magazine in 2017.
He said: "I've been punching above my weight for years – she's gorgeous! I'm a very lucky bloke.
"We've been together 14 years and we just don't argue. We get on so well."
Andy regularly shares an insight into his happy family life on Instagram. The family's trip to Cape Verde in 2020 was sadly derailed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
But they refused to let it dampen their spirits - they enjoyed a luxurious afternoon in their garden hot tub. Andy has regularly shared updates of the family relaxing in style in their garden.
Andy was sharing a flat with his co-star, Alan Halsall, when he met Nicola and she hilariously admitted it took a few months for her now husband to stop acting "like an idiot". She said: "He was single and sharing a place with Al.
"He was just giving it big time and not doing what I wanted him to do." Andy considers the Tyrone Dobbs' star his "best mate" and issued a heartfelt tribute to him on his 40th birthday.
He said: "Today @alanhalsall turns 40. We've known each other for over 30 years, I feel so lucky that I can call you my best mate, my brother.
"Happy 40th birthday, have the best day. Love you bro."
