With temperatures soaring and rare heat warnings in place, people are being advised to avoid potentially dangerous conditions over the next few days - including being in a car in full sunlight. One man decided to see what would happen if you sit in a car with the windows up at the hottest part of the day.
Temperatures across the UK could soar above 40C with the early part of next week set to be the warmest, according to the Met Office. HullLive reporter Ivan Morris Poxton 'under the careful supervision of a colleague' tried to stay in a parked car with no air con and no windows down for 15 minutes to highlight the dangers.
The temperature outside at the time was 'just' 20C, but within seconds that had doubled inside the car.
