Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher will be attempting farming life with his family on new BBC show Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure.

The star is best known for playing Andy Sugden on ITV soap Emmerdale for 20 years, bagging best actor and best dramatic performance gongs.

After leaving the ITV soap he went on to appear on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing in 2019 and despite not being in the original line-up he went on to win the show alongside his pro dance partner Oti Mabuse.

He has now swapped glitz and glamour for farming in the Peak District countryside along with his wife Liz Marsland who just announced they are expecting twins.

The childhood sweethearts already share two children together - Marnie and Milo.

Kelvin has had a successful run on ITV hit soap Emmerdale appearing in more than 1,100 episodes and winning BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing - which has left him with an impressive net worth.

Kelvin first joined Emmerdale in 1996 when he was only six years old and played the part of Andy Sugden for 20 years, before quitting the role in 2016 for good.

During an appearance on This Morning, the actor opened up about his decision to leave the ITV soap.

Speaking to host Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, he explained: "Twenty years is a long time. It’s been an incredible twenty years.

"I am so grateful to Emmerdale. Throughout that period I have always had a real sense of fulfilment and purpose."

He added: “What started out as a hobby at six years old – I was then able to do something like that every day on a professional platform on one of the country’s greatest shows. I have been extremely lucky.

“Looking back over 20 years it has been a rollercoaster and for me, it’s given me passion to leave and continue."
